A Conversation on New Ways of Doing Business at the March 27th WCBS Small Business Breakfast in Stamford, CT

The following is a Guest Post by Karen M Kelly, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer of First County Bank. Karen attended the WCBS Small Business breakfast yesterday at the Stamford Hilton.

What a great opportunity it was to attend the WCBS Small Business breakfast on March 27th. The ballroom at the Stamford Hilton was buzzing with business owners, entrepreneurs and others who wanted to learn and share best practices on new ways of doing business. While there is no substitute for person-to –person interactions, often referred to as “meet- ups” versus “networking”, the use of technology was front and center with interest on how technology can help businesses connect with potential customers. It was no surprise that LinkedIn was referred to by many as the most useful of the social media channels when it comes to new business development.

All in all, it was a productive morning with plenty of time to “meet- up” with the others in attendance. In fact, I had the pleasure of meeting some existing First County Bank customers which is always great fun.
