I’ve always believed that giving is far more rewarding than receiving. Don’t get me wrong, I appreciate receiving as well, however, that feeling we experience when giving a gift of value is unlike any other. That’s what the holidays are about for me, personally, and as Chairman and CEO of First County Bank.
This holiday season I’m excited about the many ways First County Bank gave back to our community such as sponsoring a helium balloon at Stamford’s annual holiday balloon parade, donating to the Food Bank of Lower Fairfield County, employee volunteerism in the community and the funds we continue to deliver to local nonprofit organizations through the First County Bank Foundation.
This is just a sampling of the charitable spirit I witness regularly at the Bank that make me proud.
As you enjoy the glowing atmosphere of the holidays, remember to count the many blessings in your life. Give thanks for your family, friends, health, and good fortune. Every day is an opportunity to be thankful for all that you have. And when you give this season, give with love and kindness, whether it’s the giving of gifts, of contributions or time.
Whether you plan to travel or stay home for the holidays, I wish you all a Merry Christmas and Joyous Kwanzaa. May all your days be merry and bright.
