John Kuczo, Fairfield County Interscholastic Athletic Conference’s executive secretary, and James Moriarty, athletic director for Stamford High School, recently accepted a check from Rey Giallongo, chairman and CEO of First County Bank, for the bank to become title sponsor for FCIAC’s 2012-2013 tournament season.

“From the beginning, this partnership with First County Bank has been a very pleasant experience,” said Kuczo.  “As a nonprofit, we’re always looking for sponsors and the bank has been extremely cooperative.  The bank’s participation as title sponsor will give it exposure to all of the student athletes and their families from our network of Fairfield County high schools.  The money will be used to support tournaments and other activities for our student athletes.”

“First County Bank is proud to partner with FCIAC for its conference tournaments this year,” said Giallongo.  “Many of our employees and customers’ children play on sports teams and we felt it was the right thing to do.”  FCIAC has 19 high schools as part of its Fairfield County conference with more than 31,000 students, playing more than 100 annual championship and tournament games.  Since 1961, FCIAC schools have won more state championships than schools in any other Connecticut conference.

FCIAC, a nonprofit charity organized under tax laws 501(c)(3), was established in 1961 and is made up of high schools throughout Fairfield County, Conn. FCIAC hosts more than 100 combined championship/tournament games for all sports throughout the academic year.  An active member of the Fairfield County community, FCIAC sponsors clinics, awards and development programs.  For more information about FCIAC, please visit http://www.fciac.net/.
