As we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, whether you spend it with family, friends, your special someone, take a moment to reflect upon all your blessings. Give thanks for all that you have today, your health, your home, your family and friends, the many experiences that have brought you to this moment in time. And while you give thanks, send blessings to those around you, near and far who may have experienced circumstances that are less fortunate than yours. Those who may have lost homes in the wake of Hurricane Sandy or lost loved ones fighting to protect our country or those who are still looking for work.
As I reflect on the year, I am thankful for many things. Most importantly my dear family and friends, the wonderful employees, executives and corporators of First County Bank and their families, our community partners and nonprofit organizations that give tirelessly to the community. I am thankful that through the First County Bank Foundation, we were able to gift more than $5M since its inception to benevolent initiatives that better our community. I am blessed to be leading First County Bank as Chief Executive Officer as it is truly my passion to provide our customers with unsurpassed service and value, the kind of value reflected in our core mission guiding us since we opened our doors more than 160 years ago.
While Thanksgiving is a reminder to give thanks on that day, it’s also a reminder to live your life every day with gratitude. When we focus on what we don’t have, we’ll never have enough. When we focus on what we do have, we’ll always end up having more.
I wish you all a safe and Happy Thanksgiving and trust you’ll be enjoying a great meal, good wine and, of course, some football.
