Grandmother, mother, wife and avid online banker, Gail Christie, won a Kindle Fire after “liking” First County Bank on its Facebook page. The Stamford resident, who moved here last November after 30 plus years in Darien, has been a First County Bank customer for more than 20 years.
“I was checking my online accounts and read the notice about the Facebook contest on firstcountybank.com,” said Christie, as she received the Kindle Fire from Rey Giallongo, chairman and CEO of First County Bank, and Karen Kelly, chief marketing officer, at the bank’s administrative offices located at 117 Prospect St. in Stamford.
“First County Bank has taken good care of my family for years,” added Christie, “I am a regular user of Facebook and this contest was a no-brainer for me. I am thrilled about the new Kindle Fire,” said Christie. “I’ve been thinking of buying one for a while and now I own one thanks to First County Bank’s Facebook page.”
The First County Bank Kindle Fire sweepstakes started on April 1 and ended on May 15. More than 300 people liked the bank through its Facebook page and over 100 requested and received the bank’s history book, “The Feeling is Mutual,” as part of the six-week promotion. Both fans and non-fans of First County Bank were eligible to participate in the contest.
