Mill River Collaborative, a First County Bank Foundation grant recipient, will hold It’s My Park Day on Saturday, October 15 from 10 am to 1 pm featuring the Groundbreaking for the 12-acre Phase One of the Mill River Park construction. Mill River Collaborative received a $100,000 grant from First County Bank Foundation this past summer in support of its capital campaign to build and maintain Mill River Park, specifically the park’s new cherry tree grove. First County Bank Chairman Rey Giallongo said, “First County Bank has a 160 year history in Stamford and we are pleased to be part of this project that will have an impact on the community for a very long time.” In addition to the cherry tree grove, Phase One construction will include new paths, trees, flowers, a fountain, an ice skating rink, a carousel and a café! It’s My Park Day will be a fun filled family event with a pumpkin carving contest, face painting, balloon artists, and inflatable play environments. For more information visit: www.millriverpark.com/.
